Hundred Acre Homestead looks across the valley at the Worcester Mountain range and the quaint village of Worcester, down below. The 100-acre property includes meadows, mature stands of sugar maple , an apple orchard, walking trails, a secluded pond, and absolute privacy.
The Residence
This newly constructed eight-bedroom home balances secure privacy with the need for socialization.
Providing the openness and comfort of a traditional post-and-beam structure, the Residence offers state of-the-art amenities, including a large harvest kitchen, a traditional cook stove, and a dining area where community meals can be served in an intimate family style setting. A large outdoor deck and stone patio, accessible from the dining area and the walk-out basement, offer stunning views of the Worcester Range, one of Vermont’s most scenic mountain ranges.
The Residence’s first floor includes two large bedrooms (one fully handicapped accessible), a large harvest kitchen that is open to the dining area, and a living room with an antique brick fireplace. The walk-out lower level will house the Pottery Studio and an additional room for exercise, laundry, and television.
The Residence’s second level features six unique large bedrooms and two spacious bathrooms. All bedrooms in the Residence offer views of the Worcester Range or Hundred Acre Homestead’s apple orchard.
The Cape House
This 1820 cape style home has been updated, yet retains its charm. The Cape House serves as a welcome center for visitors to Hundred Acre Homestead, the home of our Managing Director, and the administrative office of Hundred Acre Homestead.
The Art Studio
Attached to the Cape House, the studio provides space for the visual arts, including drawing, painting, and the carding, dyeing, spinning, and weaving of the wool from our sheep, goats, and alpacas. The studio is a place where expression and exploration are equally encouraged, and where one can find an intimate refuge for the exploration of the spirit.
The Animal Barn
This recently renovated 30′x40′ barn provides comfortable, humane housing for our animals, as well as storage for farming equipment, gardening gear, and animal feed.
As they do barn chores, our residents not only learn more about animals and their needs, but learn about themselves, building confidence and self-esteem as they contribute to the daily operation of the homestead.
